Cover up solar panels

What about working with solar panels? Should they be covered with cardboard to shut out the light until they are fully connected? Other electricians seem to work with the panels fully exposed / energized.The series connected string that I will install will produce about 433 volts.

I am going to set up the string so that the series connections are close to each other but not connected. When I am done , I will connect the connection blocks in the dark.
