What is the required distance between receptacles in the lobby of a commercial building?

As far as the NEC there is no spacing requirement. You are not even required to provide any receptacle.

I agree with Iwire. Note: residential code is different than commercial. To add: Depending on the type of commercial building, I would not leave a hall without one or more. Example: Hotel. Why have a maid use an extension cord to vacuum the halls.
