Can you clarify the question? It's not uncommon to supply a single device with two sources of power via a transfer switch.

Inspectors and other officials make citations, there are only Article(s) that the OP could quote...
 
In the metal fabrication industry it is common to dual feed Bus runs from seperate switch gears in different sub-stations. As long as the bus is identified as being fed from 2 seperate locations it is ok. It is done in case 1 side fails, production can keep stamping those parts out without interruption. The repairs can be done later.;)
