Took my Washington Administrator's exam today. Passed the NEC portion... passed the calculations portion (which I was most worried about).... failed the stupid WA administrative rules and electrical code amendments by 2 questions :mad:

If anyone here ever reads RCW 19.28 and WAC 296-46B you'll see what I mean. It's very difficult to find the information you're looking for in it.

And here I went thinking the WA laws would be the easy part :roll:
 
Look at the positive side of your situation.

You have taken one more step towards passing the portion of the test you made a few mistakes on. Focus on that portion and the next time you will pass, have a smile and move forward in your life.




**In my opinion, there are a large portion of individuals in our industry who can pass the codes parts of state tests. The individuals who pass the law/administrative portions are the 'cream that come to the top'.
 
Sorry to hear. For whatever this might be worth, that is the same section that I failed, the first time I took the test (eight years ago). I passed on my second attempt, and so can you. Best of luck.
 
I came to the conclusion, years ago, that tests are designed to make you fail.

After all, once you pass, you're no longer a potential customer. So it's in the test proctors' best interest that you fail so you have to pay to retake the test.

This is so true...There is always the small percentage passing the first time and then the ones passing the second time, then those passing the third time, etc....

Prometric is a billion dollar $$$$$$$$$$$$ company.

Just think. How much easier it may have been if we choose the route of writing the test, as opposed to taking the test. ;):cool:
 
Don't feel bad... I passed the Washington Master Electrician exam the first time, but the toughest part was the same for me, WAC rules.... The Laws and Rules are poorly put together and it's hard to find the information.... Hang in there and don't give up.

Yeah, that was the issue.... poorly laid out and put together and difficult to find information. I'm going to spend the next 2 weeks (until I can retake that portion) just memorizing it.

On my WA journeyman exam, I passed the WA rules & laws with a 94! I don't know what my problem was this time. Oh well, no big deal. I passed the code and the calculations, which are what I was most worried about.
 
Part of the problem I had, when I failed the admin section the first time around, is that I was looking up the answers in an out of date copy of the WAC and RCW. Are you sure the version you have is current?
