Neutral Issue

Asked to put a GFI breaker in for a bathroom circuit that is part of multiconductor. The other hot conductor goes to an adjoining bedroom. Will I have to install a GFI for that circuit as well? I haven't done something like this before but am sure that the neutral sharing multiconductor hot for the bedroom will trip the bathroom. Any suggestions?

Can't run a recepticle. This is a fix for a light switch in the bathroom. It is home inspector's finding during an inspection for a sale of a home. He said the light switch is too close to the shower (about three and a half feet) and recommended installing the breaker. I haven't heard of that before. The house is about 15 years old.

He is wrong. The switch can be right next to the shower and be code compliant. No gfi required unless the light is over the shower and the manufacture requires it.

You are the "Master Electrician" per your profile, you have the hammer over the HI's observations, quote the code per the NEC or your local code to the involved parties and be done with it.
