Basically, I was supporting you but the term equipment is very general as used in the NEC. (See the definition in Art 100) I just wanted to emphasize that all relevant temperature markings associated with a termination may mean considerably more than the markings on the termination itself.

Which is why I said, "...the transition cannot be done in the same enclosure as 75?C-rated equipment." So I'd say we have well emphasized the point ;)

A pullbox is a piece of equipment, yet it does not have a temperature limitation, are you saying you cannot splice in it?

The UL language has to do with clarifying that you may not simply swap one set of lugs for another. The assembly/equipment to which the lugs are connected needs to have the same temperature rating as the conductor. It is not saying every piece of equipment has an overall wiring temperature rating.

Smart $ - I was under the impression that the rating of 90C of the connector disallowed it's use due to the first paragraph of 110.14(C). After carefully re-reading, I believe that 110.14(C)(2) is A-OK and the way to go. The first paragraph of 110.14(C) specifically mentions the ampacity of the conductor shall not exceed the connected termination, it does not say that the termination provision (AKA - connector) cannot exceed the temp rating.

RBALEX - The inverter is rated to 90C and normally so are it's terminals. This unit was ordered with an optional sub-combiner which has terminals rated at 75C.

Thanks to all for the great feedback.
