Class2Div1 enclosure rating

I am working with a vendor on a electrical overhead door application in a class2div1 area.

The control panel (starter and associated controls) will be installed outside on building wall.

Is there a certain distance required to be away from opening in order to avoid installing a NEMA9 enclosure?

I found a reference/diagram in NFPA 499...there is a 10' clearance requirement in all directions by the opening.

Most likely, it would only be Division 2 outdoors. In that case, NEMA 6 is unwarranted. See Section 502.115(B)
