Time off and billable hours

I'm re-analyzing my break even and getting geared up for the new year. I'm trying to organize what days to give my employee off each year. Which/How many holidays do you guys take and how much vacation do you give (and personally take)? Also, out of curiosity how many Billable hours do you average per day ( and year)?

Christmas and thanksgiving unless they're on a weekend. we took Christmas eve off. I worked all day new year's eve.

on billable hours; for service work, i'm lucky to get 5 on the average day, and an average "on the clock day" is minimum 8 hrs.

6 holiday. With option for an extra. Full timers are at two weeks. I take the two weeks or more. Two weeks sick time. Partime office help get holiday hours depending on her worked hours. Plus a year end for all but me.

Billable for me is Lucky to be 1000 hrs . Haven't figured the guys yet.

the guys get 1 week paid vaca, 6 paid holiday, company match ira, no sick time. Other than that - no work no pay. if they need more time off - they can have it but no pay.

the vaca kicks in after 1 year of employment. the holiday pay kicks in after 2 years. the company match is immediate as long as they contribute.


I take at least 2 weeks off plus a lot of fridays off especially in the summer and the 6 holidays.

Billable for guys 78% last year. That includes vacation, sick, and holidays.
