NEC Code Changes

I am trying to determine when the NEC addressed Adjustable-Speed Drive Systems such at Atricle 430.120. I can't find anykthing in the 1999 NEC. It is addressed in the 2005 NEC. I am wondering if the 2002 NEC addressed this issue.

Part X Adjustable speed drive systems was added to the NEC for the 2005 cycle.

If you look at the 2005 you will see a black bar on the left side of the section running the length of the section. That black bar meas that that section is new for the that code cycle.
