AC & DC in same panel

Is there any requirement/restriction/design criteria in having AC in a DC starter panel?

the panel is a DC starter for a 3HP pump DC motor and the control circuit for the motor is AC. are you guys aware of any barrier or segregation requirements?

Sounds to me like you are talking about an item that comes from the manufacturer with connections for both AC and DC. That puts it outside the scope of the NEC. Whatever barriers the manufacturer might have included in the design, before putting it through the process of getting it listed, are of no interest to the NEC.
 
no this is an engineered panel that will be constructed at a panel shop.

the engineer in charge of that task did not design any special barriers so I wasn't sure if they needed to.

If it was an NEC issue it would not be about AC or DC it would have to do with the use of the conductors.

For instance if the AC conductors happen to be power conductors and the DC conductors happen to be Class 1, 2 or 3 circuits you would have to take steps to keep them separate.
