TV by the tub

There's no specific rule against having a TV near the tub - indeed, I know of a UL-listed hot tub that has a TV built into it, arranged for viewing and adjustment by the tub occupants. I am also aware of a Japanese TV that is made specifically for this use.

Yet, equipment is required to be suitable for the location. In this instance, I'd expect the TV to have some manner of 'wet location' rating.

I also note the tub in the picture is a 'hydromassage' tub- so GFCI protection is required.

If the receptacle is located within the space occupied by the TV, it would be a violation of 406.8(C). Otherwise, I would think this would be a violation of section 400.8(2) or 400.8(5).
