TV by the tub

Three posts today from the same home. I could not find where the TV was powered (receptacle buried in the wall or maybe to the one used by the inaccessible jacuzzi pump). At any rate, any rules on TV's this close to a tub?

The nec has no requirements about a TV near a tub but the receptacle has to meet the regs

imo as long as the receptacle is installed properly then this is a legal install.

The tile job was neat enough to allow the tv to slip in - better not need to be replaced.

There's no specific rule against having a TV near the tub - indeed, I know of a UL-listed hot tub that has a TV built into it, arranged for viewing and adjustment by the tub occupants. I am also aware of a Japanese TV that is made specifically for this use.

Yet, equipment is required to be suitable for the location. In this instance, I'd expect the TV to have some manner of 'wet location' rating.

I also note the tub in the picture is a 'hydromassage' tub- so GFCI protection is required.

What article are you quoting for this statement. A hydomassage tub has the same rules, in general, as a standard bathtub.

Maybe the receptacle is in the space occupied by the television, which in my opinion would be an illegal install.

If the receptacle is located within the space occupied by the TV, it would be a violation of 406.8(C). Otherwise, I would think this would be a violation of section 400.8(2) or 400.8(5).

LEAST GFCI protected. I'd have to check if there's any exceptions to the 6' rule. Or it might be a low voltage rated tv...

Yep, but we don't know where the receptacle is. I have seen setups like this where the TV backed up to a closet and the receptacle was in the closet. IMO, that would not need gfci protection.
