Forgetting about a number of other issues ........ am I right that the grounding lug is held onto the LFMC fitting with a tek-screw?

Yes. Something told me that you would be the first one to catch/mention that.

Apparently, the screws wouldn't get tight enough so they used something stronger... a 1/2" tech screw with a self tapping head.
