Under the the most recent NEC:
Is there a requirement to have the lighting switched from both ends of the hall?
This is new construction. The hall is 10 feet long.

210.70(A)(2)(C) 2008 code states that stairwells require switches at top and bottom. The only requirement for a 10' hallway is a light controlled by a switch 210.70(A)(2)(A)

Please note the mentioned code requirements are for dwelling units only.

If not a dwelling unit 210.70 (C) applies and the only required lighting outlet is in attics or crawl spaces that contain equipment that may require servicing.

Other codes may require certain lighting outlets or switch locations but not the NEC.
