How do i calculate the generator requirments for a motor. I have an existing building with a existing 150kw 188kva label rated 520amp generator. They have an existing fire pump 30hp, 3phase, code F, S.F. 1.15, 208v motor. They want to continue to add to the generator. Do i use 430.7 and use LRA. That would be 167.7 kva leaving 20kva for other loads?

I think the locked rotor current is the same as the inrush current. The only use for it is to size the ground-fault short-circuit protection. Fire pump motors have no overload protection so I find it surprising that the service factor 1.15 is given. Are you sure the motor is identified for fire pump use?
