Ground for new service: Ufer plus water pipe

Do these two satisfy 250.53(B)?

1. Galvanized steel water line coming from well.

2. 20-foot length of 1/2" steel rebar fully encased in foundation wall footing.

Rod electrodes driven into ground are to be minimum 6 feet apart. What is the required distance if the water line and the footing rebar are used, and no rods are used?

What distance do you mean? No rods then distance isn't an issue. Just use the water pipe as an electrode and connect within 5' of where it enters the structure. The ufer is another electrode connection. Are you thinking the water pipe and the ufer must be a distance apart? If so, no limitation as the water pipe and the ufer usually go different directions anyway.

I agree with Dennis no separation required. Even a ground rod supplementing a water pipe can be driven right next to the pipe.
