What NEC code section would refrence the limitations of serving a building addition with two sub panels, each panel to be served via and indavidual electrical sub feeder from two seperate switchboards ?

Thanks

If it is an addition it becomes a part of the original building and you don't even have to have a panel in the addition you can supply all of your branch circuits from the original part of the building if you wish.

If it is a separate building supplied from the original building then 225.30 says it must be fed by a single branch circuit or feeder.

The facility has a single point utility service (primary feed), the owner dustributesthe primary outside the building to two seperate step down transformers to 277/480, the step down transformers are in seperate locations. One 480V servie for refrigeration the other 480V service for building loads (lighting etc.)

The project is an addition, and due to loading constraints, and circuiting we would like to have two 480V panels in one room, one panel fed from the refrig. 480V service and the other fed from the building 480V service.
This way the refrigeration loads will be kept on the refrigeration service and the lighting/power loads will be kept on the building service.

As far as I see it, because this is and addition, and because it is under one owner we can have the two 480V panels in the same room fed by different switchboards.

Thanks
Tom
