Residential Microwave on 15amp circuit

Just remember, The plug from the Microwave must be able to be removed without altering the structure/cabinet AKA.. Holesaw big enough for the cord cap to fit through.

I have been putting fastened in place microwaves on #12 for years, But with the price of wire now a days I would sure like to down size to #14.
I am trying to think " who told me to put them on #12" :mad:

Thats just stupid.

The 15 amp microwave will probable die after a year and the HO will replace it with a "much better" 4000w convection microwave;)

I always use 12 awg but so what if the homeowner changes things. If it doesn't work they have to hire someone back.

Ah ha! You are in violation of the manufactures 15 amp requirement.

PS: Yes, Yes I know, you use a 15a breaker on the #12 after you get done reading the instructions;)
