Lay-in 2x4 support wires

When I use independent ceiling grid type wires to support my lay-in 2x4 fixtures, can I caddy "bat wing" clip my MC to these wires? Would this be an acceptable support for my MC cable to the light?

Sure. I do it all the time. As long as they're your wires and not grid supports, no issues.

I agree with the milk producer, you are fine using the independent wires used to support your luminaire to also support the MC cable.

Just a side note if you care Caddy makes a "bat wing" that is used for supporting emt too (though I think it looks ugly)
