NM touching heat ducts?

Is it acceptable to have NM cables in contact with heat ducts (speaking of residential forced-air systems) as those cables pass under or over them at a right angle as they make their way across the basement ceiling? If not, how much clearance would be required or what would one put in between as insulation?

It's fine, the jacket and insulation are rated at temperatures much higher than forced hot air could ever get.

As a practice, we usually run the NM under (flexible) ductwork. Here the ambient temperature in an attic can easily exceed anything a furnace would send through the ductwork.
