Wireing methods for mobiles

I was called to inspect an office complex made up of 17 ea 12 x 60 mobiles, factory wired with NM cable, as I hadn't looked at a mobile in a while I re-read Articles 550 and 334. There are hundreds of these at this facility, to my surprise I discovered that in none dwelling mobiles with suspended ceilings NM cable is not allowed.
Is there an exception to this somewhere, nearly every trailer on site is wired with NM cable?

To be honest, mobile homes or buildings seem to have a different set of rules as there are many things that I see from the factory that would be a no go in the real world.

If the units get a third party approval or an approval from whoever is their overseer, then I don't see that there is anything we can do about it. Now if these are manufactured as mobile homes and they are used for different purposes then that may be an issue.

I agree Dennis....... Manufactured Homes (used as dwellings) are regulated by HUD under the "Manufactured Housing Safety Standard". And further, in my area, we adopted appendix E of the 2006 IRC which states that Manufactured Homes shall only be used as a single dwelling unit. But it sounds like the OP may be talking about Mobile or manufactured buildings. I'm not sure.
