what to study for
what to study for
Mike exam prep books will be okay. I took mine about 6 years ago. Their test was administered by a different organization then than it is now. I would say be ready for a few calculations, and read the questions carefully, be aware of minimum and maximum in the text and how it applies.
Their test covered almost every segment it not all of them, some was just one question for a particular article.
They did have a plan that you had to estimate and calculate from, this took some time because the plans were not the best plans to go buy. This was done to make you think, there was enough information there to get an answer.
One thing is to have a plan for the test, I would go over every question and answer the ones that I knew off the top of my head, and have a piece of scrap paper there that I had written all the numbers of the test questions on it. Marking with a check mark the ones I had done. The computer will keep track of this for you also and you can look back at the ones you have not done.
I make a mark of the ones that will take me to the code book and will take some time, the ones that I think I know and will need to look up in the code book will have different mark on my scratch paper.
I did it this way and was able to handle all the questions, the last thirty minutes was spent on to tough questions and the plans. I was able to get the questions, and had already completed some of the plans earlier. I was able to come back and look at the plans and complete the questions.
If you study good and do alright on the rest of the test, you can miss several of the plans questions and still pass.
At the time I used Stallcup's Master test prep 6 years ago, for then it was a good prep I do not know about now. He covered every area, everything he covered was on the test in one way or the other. Mike's does the same I have one. The prep was good it got you to thinking the way they do when they come up with some of the questions designed to stump you if you do not read closely.
Hope this help's, be confident take the test, if you fail it will tell you what areas you need to bone up on.
