GFCI in series

On a dedicated circuit in a kitchen remodell, Can the first downstream rec be a GFCI, then the next 2 regular rec in series off the load side of the GFCI, and the last (4th) be a GFCI as an outdoor convenience rec? The homeowner wants all GFCI's. How do I answer? Richard

You can have downstream GFCI's fed from GFCI's loads. No problem but you cannot have an outdoor recep. on a kitchen circuit.

They will all work properly, but not code to feed outside from kitchen (as Dennis said)
What do you tell the home owner? They are all GFCI protected.

Not to trying to nit-pick here and just to clarify, in addition to Dennis's response, the receptacles on the load side of the initial GFI are wired in parallel and not in series (but I know what you meant anyway ). Wire the outdoor GFI off the lighting circuit instead of the kitchen counter receptacle circuit.

I believe that is what he meant-- at least I hope so but good point.
