Pre-Wired Fixtures

I was reading my book last night and came across a section on "pre-wired" recessed fixtures such as a downlight with a box. The mentioned the box be listed or rated for "through wiring". I was a liitle confused. Can the box contain wire not associated with that fixture but wires from another fixture? THanks.

I believe the book is saying that the box must be listed for branch circuit connections into and out of (through) the box. Here is a spec sheet for a Halo recessed fixture.

Thanks. So I guess 3/4" won't work with that box....

What comes to my mind is using a three wire to feed two circuits of recessed lights which would give you a "through" connection at each light. Not sure if that's what this is about though...
