I don't have my code book with me. A 200 amp sub panel fed with copper. Should that have a #4 or #6 copper equipment ground. I think it's 4, somebody is trying to tell me it's #6
I know the conductor to the cold water is #4
Nec 2008
All copper

Keep in mind that Section 250.22(B) would require a larger sized EGC depending on what size ungrounded conductors are used for that feeder circuit...

2/0 copper would not be sufficient for a 200A feeder unless the application you are referring to is the "main power feeder" per 310.15(B)(7) 2011 NEC. 3/0 conductors would be required at a minimum for a 200A general feeder per Table 310.15(B)(16)...

Thanks, I almost missed that. My OP is hypothetical. Again I don't have my book.
I'm on my Droid.
So with 3/0 is #6 still okay.
All copper, NEC 08

Yes....... The egc has nothing to do with wire size, unless you upsize, it has to do with breaker size.
