They're meant to save energy but not meant for escaping cracking from getting wet like regular bulbs.

This place sells beater cars. Indoor use only R-40s in totally exposed outdoor install and it rains like a waterfall here :lol::lol:

That probably won't happen. They're cheap enough to pull off that hack.

When they fail eventually, they'll get thrown in the trash or the manager will probably dump them at the orange box who takes CFLs for free as "consumer waste".
