It's been a long time since I wired a pool, correct me if I'm wrong, but my take on the 680.26 EB for an aboveground permenant pool, is if the pool has a vinyl liner, 680.26(B)(1) or (2) do not apply.

Now, what if this pool has an aluminum wall with a NM frame??
Does this wall need to be part of the EB? or when I run my #8 around the pool per 680.26(B)(2)(b)(1-5) should I bond the wall at 4 points??? even though the pool has a nonconductive shell.

If the structural construction of a pool contains metallic parts, they must be bonded. No metallic parts, no bonding required. The surface perimeter bonding is required regardless of the pool construction. The (4) point bonding to the pool structure is required for pools will metallic structural parts. Treat each section of 680.26(B) as a separate and distinct requirement and comply as applicable...

Ok,
I thought I was reading it right and just wanted make sure.
So, 680.26(B)(1) does not apply to an above or below grade pool with a nonconductive vinyl liner.
680.26(B)(2) does apply regardless.
