A question and a request. The question is, ?Is this a job-related installation, or does this have to do with something you are planning to install in your own home?? I'd also ask for some clarification as to what is meant by "BX" cable. The term is used to mean different products by different folks.

Yes it would be OK. The question is; Why would you want to use BX cable in an unfloored
attic crawl space ? Romex is a whole lot easier to work with. If you use nail on fiberglass
boxes, no special connectors are required.

Romex is illegal out here in most suburbs. The only time you can use it is with temps. A lot of the suburbs use a hybrid of NEC and CEC (Chicago Electrical Code).
