NEC/NYC CODE

How does the NYC Code work in conjusntioon with the NEC? Are there only certtain sections of the NEC that the NYC Code expands on and gives mores stringent requirements etc? Thanks alot.

Call your NYC building inspectors office and get a copy. Most likely they just make amendments

to the NEC that are specific to NYC. My guess is that the changes are more stringent than

the NEC.

Basically it's the 2005 NEC. Check out jrohe's link to see if the 2005 NEC has been amended. For example Article 250 is used almost in it's entirety without amendments.

Actually we are up to 2008 NEC with 2011 amendments which came into effect in July.When filling out applications you have the option to use 2007 NYC code until December,when it becomes mandatory.
