Not certain wht the asterisk means when it refers to coductors without outer covering? what is meant by that ? I am using 2224 in 1 1/4 inch schedule 40 and if I read it correctly its just fine based on the table with the asterisk. Are there actually rhw-2 wires that have some additional outer covering?

There u is another table that gives an even smaller dimension for use cable that is table 5a compact conductors. If I use that table I am way under the fill at 40% . A bit confusing to me.

actually the table 5a covers both aluminum and copper compact conductors. I am thinking that maybe all use cable is compact. It appears that wire size one of the determinants. . The table starts at 8 and up.

Yea. I have an '05 in the house and I am not finding the note I am looking for. I know I read somewhere about using the table 5A and the fact that most all Al conductors are compact.

I know that if you go to annex C you get a max fill for both types of wire.
