I'm getting transferred to Utah, from Virginia, in a couple of weeks. I am assuming Utah is working under NEC 2008. I will be in the Salt Lake City area. Does anyone have any input on where to find local code requirements?

1. Does Utah have a statewide code? No local county or city amendments.

This site seems to say so:

Correct, Utah has adopted Statewide the 2009 I-code with some State wide amendments.

2. Utah is 2008 NEC and 2009 IRC, correct?
Correct, there is only 2 amendments to the NEC and a few to the IRC.

3. IRC E3902.11/Nec 210.12 Arc Fault Protection is still limited to bedroom outlets?
Only in buildings built under the IRC. Buildings built under the IBC using the NEC Section 210.12 has not been amended. So apartment buildings in Utah are required to have AFCI's in locations required by 210.12.

4. R315 Carbon monoxide detectors are required. Is a remodel considered new construction?
There is a State amendment that requires any building that gets building permit must update their smoke alarms and CO alarms to meet the current code.
