I am looking to check any codes, strands etc for use of occupancy sesnors in school, day care & church in ares of egress?
I seem to recall somthing in NFPA 101 Life saftey in not allowing occupancy sensors in ares of egress?
I am outdated on my 2000 copy of NFPA 101

I beleive your correct on not using the occupancy sensor, last time I got to play with the egreess lighting, we just tied them into the battery back up exit sign(s).

The foot candles requirement is very low and can usually be handled with new LED illumination.

Here the Common areas of most buildings only require a time clock for energy controls and battery backup em lights for emergency egress.

Occ sensors only in the individual offices, bathrooms and other rooms.
