What are the in's and out of the new AFCI code requirement regarding new residential construction? Dose dedicated outlets like refrigerators, washers, microwaves, dishwashers need to all be AFI now?

Unless you have a local amendment nothing in the kitchen needs afci protection including lights-- same is true in the bathroom.

The in's and out's depends on if you are the homeowner, electical contractor, an AFCI manufacturer or supply house:lol:
No one really knows for sure if they do what the makers claim. Everyone does know they are pricey.
If it is not in a room listed in 210.12(B) it does not require AFCI.
