Any issues with coiling the wire at the entrance to a transformer? I typically do not see it in the field and do not see any code violation.

I make it a point to coil the wire I terminate in a cabinet or a transformer if at all possible. As Laszlo stated, it makes it tons easier to park the elbows on standoffs if there is some flexibility. The added benefit is that it relieves the pressure from of the elbows for those that like to terminate the cable and keep all the length possible. Besides, if you terminate the cable with no coil, there is no slack in case something happens to the termination and the need to reterminate arises.
Radial fed XF's like these are easy. Loop fed setups are much harder.
BTW, where are the arrestor(s)?

When I don't have enough room to do this I shove the slack back down the conduit before terminating. Unless you are maxed on conduit fill you can get 8 to 12" of slack this way.

Thank you all for the replies.

And to masterinbama, if you can stuff 8-12" back into the hole ("that's what she said") of medium voltage cable, then you are the man.
