How do we compete with this?

Landed a job this week. Customer bought a home and POCO wouldn't connect service without an inspection from the AHJ.
Most of the wiring is original which is ok. 2-3 areas have been "remodeled/fixed". I gave the customer one of those :"take it or leave it" prices. I told them the inspector might not even look at these, but I either fix them or no permit. So it's been a good week:).
Looking at some of the pictures though it boggles the mind the effort was put it to do it wrong. Especially the time clock (which look like it was replaced. Looks like someone took down the N3R time clock and installed an N1 time clock). The pic doesn't show it, but in pic #2 the "whoever" actually notched the PVC connector to get the piece of 1/2 NMLT into it.
The last pic is from a previous job, but I figured I would put it here as well.
Anyway without further ado:

Are we really competeing?

Are we really competeing?

Is this competing? Hardly even or close to same skill set working here. I like to think if I lose then I need to get BETTER so I can win next time. To get worse to win is quite contrary to my thinking and I can't bring myself to compete that way. As long as the consumer remains ignorant they will continue to hire the (I am being kind here) ignorant.
