I understand most of the type these are by the GC but has anyone here done them before. Can this be completely moved around site and set in place by the electrician or is a rigger needed. How does a electrian do this...a forklift or are they too heavy. They are concrete and about 3k lbs each? THanks.

You'll find some other threads here on the subject I'm sure if you search. There are a lot of things to consider, but simply put, this is not something you should take on unless you have a manufacturer or engineer spec and are willing to accept the liability. JMO

Typically we own the purchase and delivery of precast bases, the site contractor owns placement and if they don't we sub it out to them

Even for relatively small poles the precast bases will be more than 5000 pounds and many are closer to 8000 pounds.

If the job wants poured in place and it is part of the electrical contract we will sub that out as well.

In many cases we could do it ourselves but subbing it to the site contractor who is already doing the site work usually makes things go easier and if it is a union job that is especially true.
