I have a job I'm working on where I'm using Leviton's Vizia+ Electronic Dimmer, VPE04-1LZ and the Matching Remote, VPOOR-1LZ.

I have to install this as a 4way and I would like to know if I can "Wheel" out from a central location to the Remotes and Dimmer. I have the "Load" at the Dimmer.

The instructions show the hot "BK" hitting each device, the neutral "W" hitting each device and the red "Y/R" hitting each device. It does not appear from the drawing that I have "feed thru" the devices.

Instruction Link

I know this is hard to follow but I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks

I looked at it they supply power to daisy chain in the application if that's what you mean by wheel, I assume you could but you'd have to single line it...

But the power is on one side and the load is at the other end in all applications, if you seperated the two switches apart can you sketch another one in? Let me assume if you wheel it, it would require addition wires.

I don't see anything that a 4-way in the pdf's ????

It all depends as to what wires you have in the remote boxes. Then you need to decide LED's or not.

follow the wiring for the choice of devices you made.

power is not on one side and load on the other in all cases. It all depends on the device you use and if LED's are desired at remote locations. Oh and if you have H-N - T at each box.

Rather crude, quick drawing. Heading out the door, will check back in a bit from my Phone.

Ah. "wheel" as in "spokes".

From a circuit theory approach, it should work just fine. The H & N keep the electronics alive in the remotes, and the Y/R is the signal wire that allows each remote to "talk" to the load control circuitry in the dimmer body. The instructions show the remotes hooked in parallel, which is also what your sketch shows.

The only series connection is the "Red" that supplies the controlled load. Note that magnetic and/or incandescent loads connected to a Non-LED remote requires special handling.

To the OP the best thing you could do is call the manufacture period.

They only show daisy chain, my first thought was that this is the only way you could do it.

If you ran it per you sketch the individual units would not see each other to work with the electronic's
that are with-in each unit, nor communicate the requirements of dimming to the other units.

The introduction sheet shows a daisy chain, I didn't open that last night, my fault and just my thoughts.

Good Luck!

The OP's scenario should work fine as it is one of the recommended methods.

Thanks to all who have shared their thoughts.

I called Leviton Tech. Support today and was told that it will work as described.

I was able to get get my hands on the two Matching Remotes and the Dimmer. I wired this on the counter to test it and it worked as I had hoped.

Thanks again,
