I'M WIRING A MOTEL IN OKLAHOMA AND WAS TOLD I HAD TO USE ARC FAULT BRKRS AND TAMPER PROOF PLUGS. I DISAGREE. I UNDERSTAND THESE ARE ONLY NEEDED IN DWELLINGS. AM I WRONG? PLEASE ADVISE. THANKS.

Does the Motel have permanent provisions for cooking? then no for AFCI If not I would argue not required.
Was this job already bid?

All Caps will make it look like your shouting.

210.18 can require Arc faults as it requires you to treat the room as you would in a dwelling if it is provided with permanent provisions for
cooking, other wise no. Hope this helps,

Yes job was already bid. I can handle TR plugs but not AF brkrs.

So does the city have a policy that includes AFCI in motels. If not then I would discuss with the client and possible upgrade if the inspector won't back down.
