When going from Cu to Al Wiring

If you switch from Cu to Al wiring does they gear need to be adjusted/changed now due to Al wiring. I am thinking maybe lugs etc.? Thanks.
 
Well the Al conductors may be larger so that's one consideration. Many lugs are dual rated for both aluminum and copper so that shouldn't be a problem provding they're the right size. The few jobs that I've done over the years that involved aluminum conductors all utilized compression lugs. Compression lugs will add to your labor costs.

Is the other type of lug mechanical.
