When insualtion resistance testing is done how is it usually documented? Are the result just written down. Do they ever have to be turned over to anyone e.g. engineer, GC etc.

Thanks.

Should be documented on a test form that identifies the equipment, has all of the readings (L-L, L-G, etc), test voltage used, ambient tempature, tempature corrected IR readings, equipment serial # and calibration date, etc....

Some specs also require the owner or his rep to be present during testing. This is definitely true here at the Marshal Space Flight Center and The Army Aviation and Missile Command facilities.

Humidity.

Humidity.

Record the humidity, and maby the general weather conditions -ie foggy, rain etc.
The more expensive the equipment, the more data you need.
You allso need a plan. Before I let you around my equipment I would want to see you written proceedure including the forms you would use to record the data. If you didn't have them when you bid the job you probably would be there anyway.

All that does is slow the process down, I went through that last week, 3 witness and NONE of them had a clue, two electrical inspectors and an engineer, I could have cooked the whole test and all 3 would have signed off on it.

On another note should anyone need these types of forms I/we have some I would gladly send if you private message me with your email.
