Standby Generator Question

I have a customer who is wanting a generator installed. I'm not sure of the exact layout yet but from what there telling me they have a sub panel which was installed when the house was
built. All the circuit they will need to power with the generator are located in the sub panel. My
question is can I just install a Transferswitch between the main panel and the sub panel or am I overlooking something?

Sounds fine to me. Getting the feeders in and out of the transfer switch may be a whole lotta not fun depending on the location of the sub-panel.

Ya not real sure what to expect yet. The house was just built and from the info I got the sub panel is right next to the main panel. Hopefully it's surface mounted.
