Doing a bid for a potentially new builder, would like LED recessed lighting bid, all i can find a retrofit trims for cans
Do they make a LED recess can or are they all retrofit with Edison/GU24 base?

Prices seem to vary from brand to brand, are any better than another?

I'm looking at the Juno line, but am willing to consider any.

Thanks in advance

Greg

I deal specifically with HALO. They have some retrofit LED modules that will fit in a number of there cans(NEW, IC, Sahllow, ETC.) They are under the All-pro name. Most can be dimmed with a standard 120V Dimmer. They also have a another line that is specifically designed for LED cans. I installed some at a fire house, and they are very nice. They require a separate 2 wire control to dim, but do not use an edison base. Here are some part numbers:

All-pro HALO RL706830E26WBS

HALO LED New Construction can: HALO H750ICAT 6" LED HOUSING

HALO LED Module:HALO ML709840ICAT120D

HALO LED TRIM: HALO 493CS06

we use the Cree LR6-DR650 trim w/ the Cree H6-GU24 housing. its 650 lumens @ 12w.

I believe they make the same trim w/ an Edison base under a slightly different part #. we just buy it as a complete package. around $130/ea.

those all look like good choices, thank you for the replies

I'm guessing its more of a personal preference than anything else

I dont know if cost would be an issue, the print I have is about 6400 sq ft
if they can afford that, price of cans should not be an issue

again thanks,

apologies to the Mod's didnt even think about the "lighting" forum when i posted:ashamed1:
kept waiting for it to be moved ..

there's also a retrofit that will fit over a 4SD box as well as a 5" or 6" can. under $40 at home desperate.

i saw them first at the LA lighting show, and there weren't any of them available on the west coast,
the week i ordered some from florida, they showed up at home depot $20 cheaper retail than my
wholesale house paid for them.

Just got done with a remodel at my house ,,,
I used the CREE line ,,,,I had my lighting supplier send me 4" new works for the dining room , I went with the 4100k spectrum,, they are a nice fixture.

For the wrap around porch Again I went with the CREE ,, but this time got a std. 5"remodel halo housing ,,, with a 5" CREE led retrofit ..@ 4100k

both set ups are on dimmers ,, and I love them
