Ahhh good question, show that we really are spread out. It's Memorial Day when we honor our fallen soldiers. It's a national holiday so it's always the last Monday in May.

Most of Europe could celebrate our Memorial day too and be thankful they don't have to speak German.:)

Sunday, late, around two o'clock. If you show up early, no big deal you just might get put to work setting up. If you bring your generator we can move the party to the park behind my house. If you don't, no big deal, we'll hang out in my yard

If I bring the genny, I'm gonna have to leave wife at home, cannot afford gas to bring them both.:)

Normally I would be taking the beagle for a nice hike in a forest somewhere. But, prime hiking season for the beagle is over. Just too hot for her. I may have to go by myself.

I think Tiger said something like that just before his ex played a nine iron off his cranium as he was double parked next to his neighbor's tree, that he had just mowed down with his SUV. I'm sure the next thing that came out of his mouth, besides his front teeth, was "Let me re-phrase that last statement dear." Good luck on the links this weekend.

Tongue in cheek....
But I'm pretty sure, the way EU is going nowadays, a lot of people might start to wish they were speaking german :-(
Not to mention, most EU has no problem speaking Russian(meaning, VIVA LA REVOLUTION, VIVA SOCIALISM).
That's where they are heading and sadly enough so are we:-(

I have the on call duty this weekend. We take turns so that a building inspector is available to go out and post buildings damaged by fire, burst UG water mains and vehicles. I already had one call for a car that ran into a building. Suprisingly happens regularly. I supposee I could get a call out for an electrical fire.

The modern game of golf originated in Scotland. James VI that many of you may know is the man of the KJV bible, obviously an articulate man of words, coined the name for the pastime,. .
He used to hit a ball along the links in Fife. It could have been described as flog ball. But Jimmy six came up the the name that endures to this day. Flog didn't quite seem appropriate for a gentleman's recreational activity. Flog in his era related to punishment meted out to convicted criminals. Hardly an appropriate name for a gentlemanly recreational activity,
One can only imagine that it was a flash of inspiration combined with his mastery of the language that made him reverse the order of the letters.

And thus it was that golf was born.

Friday: 11:30 AM cut off for the day, put beer on ice in cooler (128 qt. marine grade igloo!)
Friday: 7:30 PM PM thinking beer is about "PT" by now, but phone rings- church missing phase half the lights are out.
Friday: 10:30 return from church (hottest day here so far = XFMR blew, thus phase loss at church). Open first beer of weekend.

Saturday: 6:30 PM phone rings- AC out at assisted living (AC guy replaced breaker 2xm, but still does not work. AC guy shouldn't be in my panel! Problem not breaker, but burnt bus. Relocate new breaker, extend ckt. clean up other messes in panel.
Saturday: 8:30 PM buy ice-new ice levels 120% (going to be hot tomorrow). Fire up grill (Primo Oval XL), test beer for "PT."

Sunday: 6:00 AM wake up and invoice last two service calls

I won't open the cooler until noon to see if the phone rings again.

Y'all be safe out there and enjoy your friends and families during the long weekend.

We respectfully thank our fallen brethren and remember them in our thoughts, prayers and actions.

well, here is an interesting map of europe from 1000 AD to 2000 AD, showing that
the more things change, the more they change, while nothing really changes.
