Swedge coupling

Any particular use in a swedge coupling vs a standard pvc coupling? Im not sure I get why they make them?

I can see using a swedge reducer like 3" to 2" as an example, its a little cleaner then using a pvc reducer, but to use a coupling, I'm kind of lost on.

Easier to pull thru both directions. A coupling and reducer will hang up the fish tape going from large to small
