120 V Disconnect in Class1 Division 2

I have always installed two pole disconnects for 120 V AC motors in any industrial environment, breaking both the Hot and Neutral to the motor. I came accross an application where only the Hot is broken, in a Class 1 Division 2 area, when the disconnect is in the open position. I tried to find it in NEC 2011, without any success. Anybody know, and have a NEC reference?

I think the only requirement to open both the ungrounded and grounded conductors is in 514.11(A). It is not a general requirement for classified areas.
