I plan on removing a asd svx 9000 drive[ for fr9] 150hp 480v motor from a CH cabinet with little access from the bottom of the drive. The reason for the remove is to troubleshoot a fault 32 which is a cooling fan failure or one of its controling parts that are installed in the bottom of the drive. I have no idea how to remove this for for lack of drawings or knowledge of how to remove it. We called tech service for some help and they faxed troubleshooting instructions and it is still hard to locate the fan and other parts. Does anyone have a idea where to get some kind of drawing or help with this drive .
Thanks to all for the help .

The fans are usually pretty obvious once you have the drive out and can get a good look at it. Start unbolting stuff until you get to the fan. Then order the fan, wait for delivery and don't lose all the screws in the meantime. Standard procedure for us.:)

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to try and power it up if it has multiple fans after you have it out of the cabinet to get a look at which fans aren't working. Unless you're changing them all, then it doesn't matter....

That drive is actually made by a Finnish company named Vacon and was brand labeled by CH. It's called the NSX. The controls are a little different, but the power structure would be the same, so the fan locations would be the same. If you can't gat the manual from CH, you can try looking at the NSX manual to see if it helps. Vacon has their own sales and support in the US now because their exclusivity deal with CH expired, and they bought the TB Woods drive line.

Following the information from Jraef, here is a link to Vacon downloads.

The last one on the list might be what you want but basic construction is, I imagine, the same for all markets.

We called ch tech service because of the f 32 cooling fan fault and it became check isolating trans, fuses , power driver board , cap, and one or two other things. We have no idea where they are all located and not much paper work to work from. Company does not want to field this out to ch people so it became our job. We removed the drive from the cabinet to have a better advantage in locating all the parts that need testing.
Thanks for the web site and downloads to help us with this job . Don,t have all we want but in better shape now then saturday. Thanks again.

UPDATE

UPDATE

Found capacitors one in each off the two afd bad. Now waiting for a couple of vendors to comeback with a quote for parts..

Thanks to all for the help.

Just a point I like to make VACON has been very helpful with their tech service , they go out of their way to cross over parts and do not seem to have a problem spending time with you on the phone , they do their best to get it right.
The other company was" 1 question and done ". But helpful.
Thanks to you I would not know VACON. Great help.
