The 2011 requires neutrals to be available in every switch box unless the wiring method is conduit or if there is access to add later. 404.2(C)

MWBCs always have neutrals...if they didn't they wouldn't be MWBCs. There are rules in 210.4 that have resulted in some designers prohibiting the use of MWBCs on their projects. The rule is not new for 2011. It was new in 2008.
