It is often convenient to install a lighting transformer in a cabinet that is powered from the line side of the cabinet disconnect.

Not a huge problem with a main disconnect switch. They generally have some screw terminals to connect small wires on the line side.

However, a typical MCCB does not. How do you guys get around this? Drill and tap the lugs on the line side? A common practice but seems like maybe not the greatest idea.
 
Well, I kind of answered my own question. I got a 1200 A breaker and pulled the terminal cover off. Plenty of room to add a 90 degree ring lug under the bolts that hold the lugs in place. I bet they are all about the same.

If you removed the terminal cover from the breaker it may be best to assure that the breaker was intended to be applied as such. A terminal cover my just be for protecting you from the live parts but is my also be part of the phase to phase and phase to ground insulation for maintaining electrical clearances.
It may very well be a non issure but just make sure you cover yourself.
