Question on wire size for a loooooooong sub feed run???

Feeding a 200A rated panel and let's just assume the 80% load capacity (160A). The run is +/-800 feet long. Two questions, what wire size is recommended and is there a requirement for the distance in between for access pull points (christy boxes)?

There aren't any. We'd only add them if we had excessive 90's for a pull that long. If it was a straight shot or only two long sweep 90's we'd pull the whole way.

Can't answer your voltage drop question without voltage and phase like mentioned above.

Use Mike Holts calculator (available at MH "Free Stuff") and came up with 750 AL for a little over 3% drop, 500 AL would give you closer to 5% drop.. choose your poison.
