I have a customer that wants to install a 200kva unit @ 480volt, on breaker sizing would this be based on 200,000/ 480x1.73 or is there an additional multiplier required.

I would use the manufacturer's specified breaker and feeder size. If the power conditioner is UL listed for continuous operation at 100% of rating, it's a good bet you will want the line breaker and feeder at 125%. You don't want nuisance tripping when the unit is loaded within its max rating.

There may be a power factor variance also, depending on the type of unit. The unit could be rated to carry a reactive current in addition to its kW rating.

All of the Liebert Datwave units I've install come with a input breaker rated at 125% of total capacity.
