System Bonding Jumper color

I have always been required to use green for the System Bonding Jumper. However looking in the 2008 NEC I cannot find anything where the MBJ or SBJ is required to be green. Anyone know if/where there is a requirement?

I think it is required to not be green or white. No other restrictions IMO. i suggest pink.

From the 2011, I don't see where it cannot be any color, including green or white.

250.28 Main Bonding Jumper and System Bonding
Jumper. For a grounded system, main bonding jumpers
and system bonding jumpers shall be installed as follows:
(A) Material. Main bonding jumpers and system bonding
jumpers shall be of copper or other corrosion-resistant mate-
rial. A main bonding jumper and a system bonding jumper
shall be a wire, bus, screw, or similar suitable conductor.

The System bonding jumper is permitted to be green but not required.

250.119 prohibits ungrounded and grounded circuit conductors from being identified with a green color.

IMHO 200.7(A) would prohibit using white to identify a system bonding jumper.

I agree. This is pretty unequivocal.

200.7 Use of Insulation of a White or Gray Color or
with Three Continuous White Stripes.
(A) General. The following shall be used only for the
grounded circuit conductor, unless otherwise permitted in
200.7(B) and (C):
(1) A conductor with continuous white or gray covering

In reading that section I agree too. Would be nice if they added the prohibition to 250.28(A).
